This Privacy Policy explains how JusticeBot (“JusticeBot,” “we,” “our,” “us”) collects, uses, shares, and safeguards personal information when you visit our websites https://justicebot.org, https://evejusticebot.org, and https://justicebot.io (together, the “Sites”), use our products and services, or interact with us (collectively, the “Services”).
Controller context. For the Sites, accounts, memberships, sponsor programs, Credits purchases, and support, JusticeBot acts as a data controller (see Entity & Controller Mapping below).
Processor context. For your end-client data processed through the Services (e.g., intake messages you collect from your clients), we act as a processor under a Data Processing Addendum (DPA) available on request. You (or your organization) are the controller for that data.
You contract with – and your controller is:
Canada users → Justice Chatbot Holdings Inc. (Ontario, Canada)
All other users → Justice Chatbot Ltd. (Uganda)
We may publish registration details and service addresses on our Legal/Contact page. Cross-border transfer safeguards are described in Section 9.
3) Information We Collect (Controller Context)
3.1 Identification & contact. Name, email, phone, organization/firm, country/region, preferred language.
3.2 Account & usage. Account settings, logs, device/browser info, in-product interactions, referral sources, support tickets, channel identifiers (e.g., WhatsApp/MSISDN if you connect those channels).
3.3 Billing & transactions. Invoice/transaction metadata and status. Payments are handled by Payment Processors; we do not store full card numbers.
3.4 Personalization signals (optional/limited).
Coarse location (country/region/city; not precise GPS by default)
Interests & brand affinities (topic categories you select or interact with, and brands you follow/like in-product)
Age or age range (e.g., 18–24, 25–34)
If you enable precise location, we’ll ask for explicit consent; you can revoke it any time in device/browser settings.
3.5 Content & Output. Prompts, uploads, and generated Output in controller contexts (see Terms).
3.6 Communications preferences. Subscriptions/tags, consent status, opt-in/opt-out choices (e.g., CASL).
3.7 Credits data. Type (Purchased vs Promotional), amounts, issuance/redemption, jurisdictional flags, and anti-fraud signals.
4) How We Use Personal Information (Purposes)
Operate & configure Services (accounts, authentication, features you request).
Connect you with qualified legal professionals when you choose (neutral introductions).
Support & service communications (troubleshooting, status, security notices).
Product improvement & security (quality, reliability, abuse/fraud prevention, analytics).
First-party personalization to tailor content and sponsor visibility inside JusticeBot using coarse location, interest categories/brands, and age range (see Section 6).
Credits management (issue, redeem, service Purchased and Promotional Credits; prevent fraud/abuse; meet tax/accounting duties).
Marketing where permitted by law or with consent (see Section 10).
Compliance & enforcement (legal obligations, disputes, regulatory requests).
We do not participate in cross-context behavioral advertising networks.
Contract necessity (to provide features you request).
Legitimate interests (product improvement, security, abuse prevention, contextual sponsor visibility); you may object where applicable.
Consent (e.g., marketing emails under CASL, non-essential cookies/SDKs, precise location).
Legal obligations (tax, accounting, lawful requests).
We personalize within JusticeBot only to route you to relevant topics/languages and to make sponsor visibility contextually relevant. Signals used: coarse location, interest categories/brands, age range.
We do not make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
You can opt out of marketing/sponsorship personalization at any time (Section 12).
We do not “sell” your personal information or “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We share personal information with:
Service providers/sub-processors under contract (hosting, support, analytics, messaging/SMS/USSD, payment processing, communications, AI tooling).
Legal/compliance recipients (courts, regulators) where required by law.
Corporate transactions (merger, acquisition, reorganization) with appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell personal information and do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
When you buy Purchased Credits, we process transaction metadata (amount, currency, method, status). We track balances, redemption, and jurisdictional rights (e.g., no-expiry where required).
Promotional Credits may expire 90 days after issuance (except where prohibited by law). We redeem Promotional first, then Purchased. Credits are non-transferable and not cash; where cash-out of Purchased Credits is required by law (e.g., on small remaining balances), we will comply – contact privacy@justicebot.org.
Your data may be transferred to countries where we or our providers operate (e.g., Canada, Uganda, EU, US). Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) and take reasonable steps to ensure equivalent protection. A current list of key sub-processors is available on request.
We send service/transactional messages as needed to operate your account. Marketing messages (newsletters, product updates) are sent with consent or as otherwise permitted by law.
Email: every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
SMS/WhatsApp: marketing messages include opt-out keywords (e.g., STOP) which we honor promptly.
You can also update preferences via privacy@justicebot.org.
We use cookies/SDKs for essential operations, analytics, and preferences across the Sites. Where required, we obtain consent and honor compatible Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals for non-essential cookies where supported. A cookie banner/manager may be provided.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, or object to processing, and to withdraw consent. You can:
Opt out of marketing/sponsorship personalization (toggle in-product or email privacy@justicebot.org).
Disable precise location in device/browser settings (if previously enabled).
Unsubscribe from marketing using the link in each email or STOP for SMS/WhatsApp.
Submit rights requests to privacy@justicebot.org (we may verify identity and deny where an exception applies).
We will honor non-waivable rights under applicable law. For Québec, documentation is available in French upon request.
We implement industry-standard measures (encryption in transit/at rest, role-based access, logging/monitoring, vulnerability management). No method is 100% secure; we maintain an incident-response program and will notify you of data breaches as required by law.
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes above and to meet legal/accounting requirements, then delete or anonymize. Typical periods:
Account & profile data: active term + up to 24 months after closure.
Support logs/system backups: time-limited retention.
Personalization signals: interests/brands up to 24 months since last activity; coarse location refreshed; age range retained until changed or deleted.
Credits records: retained as needed for accounting/compliance.
Processor-context client data: per your instructions and the DPA.
Content & Output. In controller contexts, we process your Content and generated Output to operate the Services. We do not publicly disclose your non-public Content/Output except as needed to operate the Services, comply with law, or with your consent.
Product improvement. We may use de-identified/aggregated analytics and derived artifacts (e.g., embeddings) to improve reliability, safety, abuse detection, and ranking.
Enterprise training opt-out. Business/enterprise customers may opt out of using their Content/Output for model training by emailing legal@justicebot.org or via an in-product control (when available). Opt-out does not restrict security/abuse detection, legal compliance, or de-identified operational analytics.
Sponsor placements are first-party brand marketing that help fund access within JusticeBot. We always label paid placements as “Sponsored” (FR-CA: “Commandité”) clearly and prominently. Sponsor status does not affect organic ranking.
The Services are intended for users 18+ (or age of majority). If you are under the age of majority, you may use the Services only with verifiable parental/guardian consent where permitted. We do not knowingly use children’s data for sponsorship personalization.
Our Services may link to third-party sites/services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies; we are not responsible for them.
We may update this Policy and will post the effective date. Where required by law, we will provide notice of material changes. Your continued use after changes indicates acceptance.
Questions, privacy rights requests, or DPA/sub-processor list requests: privacy@justicebot.org.
If we cannot resolve your concern, you may have the right to contact your local data protection authority (e.g., Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or your national authority).
When we act as processor for your end-client data:
We process solely on your documented instructions (including via the Services).
We implement appropriate security measures and assist with data-subject requests, breach notifications, and DPIAs where applicable.
We use sub-processors under written contracts with comparable protections.
On termination, we return or delete personal data per your instructions and the DPA.
